Just so you know the only 2 vendors out there with known quality setups will be able to ship within a week. They would be FM or possibly Fab9. All others will have waits. Begi tend to be 2-8 weeks, Abe@Artech is 3-8 weeks, TSE is sometime in March at the soonest. Who knows if CXRacing actually has them in stock, or what their eta would be.

The market for turbo setups on miata is reasonably small and all the makers short of FM tend to be small shops or individuals. There has always been a wait for turbo setups. It is just part of the game.

I am not completely surprised by this. They probably have the overhead to hold enough stock on shelfs.

Post up about it when you get it. I am very interested in getting a real review from someone.

I agree with you 100%. I'm only 16 and have spent the last 2 year researching turbo miatas, I almost have all the parts to turbo my 1990. (No i don't have crank wobble lol)

No intercooler? PVC piping? LITERAL 90° downpipe bend with some sketch *** welding? Boost gauge powered by shoving the wires into a USB plug? Dude got lucky the only the turbo seized instead of blowing the engine itself...

cxracing orders their stuff from China by the container load, so each turbo kit they sell they order 100's of pieces at a time.

MKTurbo, ARTECH, TSR, all except FM, build each kit to order, so obviously this takes time to build.

with a good amount of investment ~15K its very possible to send a good quality manifold/DP/Exhaust sample to China and have them make 100 copies, and ship back in a container. but this requires a large investment and the skills to micromanage the china factory, as they LOVE to cut corners and make a crappy product.

Man, if you're gonna do eBay parts at least go with a cast iron manifold that's been proven to hold up (tacotaco). Even if you get the whole CX kit that includes a welded manifold it's still worth an extra $80 for a cast one that won't turn into shrapnel in two weeks.

Cx downpipe won't mate with taco taco manifold. Different angle on turbo mounting

I am not sure that the new CXRacing setup is made in China. It at least looks to use quality weld el's to be built. At the price point they sell the manifold out their welding costs have to be extremely low.

Corky@BEGI tried the China route and he could not get anything acceptable out of them. Then they started flooding eBay with knockoffs that are made out of stupid thin metal that cracks.

I can guarantee that 15k would not get anywhere near the material cost of getting 100 of my setups built. Hell buying 100 mufflers even with a discount from magnaflow I bet would cost 10k itself.
