mine's been altered to clear a TT pipe.

If I were you, I'd hog out the hole on the body mount and use a rubber isolator on top and bottom, and only loosely install the retaining nut. Give it plenty of wiggle room.

I'm replacing my shield with a blanket when the shipment comes in.

Is this picture to scale? That's a 4.5" hole?
no i drew it really fast.

ben, this is exactly why im trying to source my little rubber piece that used to go there...and as you said, loosely tighten the nuts....the strip on the valve cover is actually slotted, not a just hole Beats the nothing I've had installed for 2 years.....and the price was right

I'll look around work for one. Unfortunately that's the kind of thing that would get kind of blindly tossed somewhere, probably the trash.
A cut rubber hose would probably do the same thing anyway.

no. but to correct myself, the hole is 4 1/8".

honestly, go get a piece of cardboard and make the magic happen yourself.

I don't think it took but 15 minutes to come up with my template.

Got my template made up. Scott, what did you use to seal the top?

Self employment FTW!

looks good!

ir anything, trace out the hole shape, add two wings to bend 90* down, and somehow attach them....a piano bracket would be cool on the far end, with a simple nut and bolt near the headlight motor to secure it (easy reach with hand if ever need to open it up.

Yeah, i'll make sure to incorporate mounting tabs when I make it out of metal. Is there anu reason you didnt make a top and chose to just seal it against the hood?

More weight dude, just make the cardboard bigger then it has to be, and trim it down in the areas it needs to be to clear the hood, add a rubber seal, and it will seal itself with the hood closed.

Sorry threadjack

Brain, in your 4th pic next to the air filter you have some sort of gadget that looks like it plugs in to the AFM socket and breaks it out in to 2 cables for AIT and something else. Is that what it is and if so where did it come from I want one!!

It's all back together and working great. Intake temps seem to be on average a lot lower. Sitting at a 5min light they never went above 95*F, I used to see +110*F. Before the fans kicked on, maybe 15-20 minutes into my drive the temps never saw over 10*F above ambient. Very happy.

Now I just need to mod this BEGi cold air box to work with my naca duct and intake pipe!
