Injector tuning help
I’ve searched a lot on here and what I’ve found is that pretty much anyone who asks the question I’m about to ask gets completely ignored. Resulting in no relevant info for others in the situation I’m in, so here goes.
Im running deatschwerks 700cc injectors. I chose these because the FF640 were a little smaller than I wanted and I didn’t realized the DW were not EV14 since they DO sell EV14’s.
The injector characteristics provided by DW for these injectors placed my idle VE at 100+ with a req fuel of 4.3. Obviously this is wrong, so I put it back to the voltage correction table that I had for my stock injectors. It works, not excellent but decent.
Does ANYONE have any experience that they can share for this or advice (besides “just get ID1000s”)
current settings have my idle VE at about 40 (11.5AFR) and my WOT at 120-135 (11.8AFR)
dead time 1.2ms and req fuel 4.3

"perfect for the money", "like a dream"... remember those comments from your build thread on the subject of these injectors? When I first read them last month I thought, "I don't think he knows the definition of the word "perfect"".
I'll just say that you were warned.
So, I'm not going to ignore you, but I have nothing to offer solution-wise either.

Just to add to everything already posted, your actual VE numbers are just relative. They are all part of the calculation. 40 or 110 at idle doesn't mean anything. You could theoretically have your req fuel completely out of a normal range and end up with crazy VE numbers but still run and drive fine. I don't think anyone here wants to put in the time to find manufacturer data for injectors that don't fit our cars but it has to be posted somewhere. After you find your dead time and use the req fuel calculator you should just use whatever numbers that gives you regardless of what that number is.

I’ve never tuned a car and am literally learning as I go. I’m doing something wrong and was asking for advice. 👍🏼 Appreciate you tho
My flowforce injectors give reasonable results when using the provided settings, weird...
What you are doing wrong is running DW injectors, being stupid around idle is about what I'd expect from nasty drilled orifice injectors. Trying to tune "VE" with non-linear injectors is a waste of time. Don't get bent out of shape if it looks weird so long as it's doing what you want fairly consistently.
Finally, you should try ID1050's.

I will say I was disappointed to find out that these were not EV14, but I was determined to make them work and I know for a fact they’re better than the RC550’s I ditched for these. But I may upgrade to FF900 at some point if these don’t work out well. The truth is I had planned to get Flow Force to begin with and my friend talked me out of it because of the adapters, etc. seemed logical (less failure points) and a quick search showed that DW sold EV14 injectors. Lesson learned. I DONT think these injectors will be “bad” or super limiting as far as power. Maybe limiting in getting idle at 14.7.
For the time I was just looking for a solution to the problem I had right now, which I found pretty much right after this.
