Would a stock fuel rail and all the crap that goes along with it mount right up to one of those?
That's pretty much a deciding factor for me right now.

FRT_Fun 07-03-2010 10:29 PM

Doesn't the fuel rail mount to the head? I can't think of anything that mounts to the intake manifold actually. The only thing that would connect to the mani would be the vac line.

In for numbers... wanna see that torque curve with those stacks. I just got a 99 head that needs a manifold. How about sending me the one you just started for testing :)

FRT_Fun 07-04-2010 12:16 AM

Uhh that one is mine and no you can't has it :D

Would like to see some real figures for this, like before and after Dyno results. No offence to the OP, but I'm not sure why people are so keen to jump on this by simply hearing "it seems to pull harder at the top end" from someone they've probably never met.

FRT_Fun 07-06-2010 08:13 AM

I doubt I'll do a before and after pull. Definitely an after. Since this will have my water injection ports built in there would obviously be a large change in power between the stock one and this one.

Nice work on the IM. Please remove the American flag from your workbench, it is not a shower curtain and should never be used in that fashion.

There are quite a few people that posted up before/after plots showing increase in topend from these manifolds.

However

I do agree with you: for THIS SPECIFIC design/style it would be very helpful to see the gains.

Otherwise its just "ooh that's shiny and looks really cool, lets put it on and cross fingers and hope it makes more power"

In for dyno plots and feedback from the 1st few prototypes.

As you are making this a business... going to become a sponsor?

GeneSplicer 07-06-2010 08:38 PM

Cha-Ching... he can sponsor me by sending me a FREE manifold for testing. ;)

+1

shlammed 07-06-2010 10:35 PM

why such a small plenum?

Gotpsi? 07-07-2010 12:10 AM

Thanks to all for the feed back, Ill have more pics up soon. Hopefully some of the first mani buyers will dyno there cars, so we can see some good numbers, obviously with the shorter runners it is designed for high rpm power, and the plenum is much larger than stock, for the 1.6 the plenum is 170% of the engine's displacement for example, and the 1.8 plenum is just slightly larger due to the just found out fact that the runner separation requires a longer plenum. I designed the prototype to fix the problems I was having with the stock manifold which was a major loss in power at the top end, and I accomplished just that and was pleased with my on track testing for that reason. The problem is caused by insufficient plenum volume and really long runners which I obviously fixed. As for the question of being a sponsor, I know what it takes and will once I start making money, Im spending enough just to get started right now. I love my flag, it is there to be seen from anywhere in the shop, it was given to me by my grandfather who served in WWII and I do not intend in anyway for it to be disrespectful, It is not there to be a curtain or any sort of covering, just to be proudly displayed.

Bump from the almost dead. Any new pictures to post up?
I got my deposit in and I am fucking excited.
How hard is it going to be to put this thing in with the motor in the car?

FRT_Fun 07-18-2010 03:53 PM

He just finished mine. I'm pretty excited about it. Hopefully he doesn't mind, I'll post up a pic in a sec here :D

(He said he still had to clean it up some)

Der_Idiot 07-30-2010 05:56 PM

I'm very interested, but I want to get a stock/new manifold dyno since I have other areas that are needing... investment.

I'd certainly take a 99 compatible one down to my local dyno shop and have it tested vs. my VICS intake, god knows I've spent enough there already..

I wonder, how would the FM pre-molded silicone link up with a stock TB? Would it even fit?

Aricjm15 07-30-2010 07:11 PM

I'm sure it would need some type of adapter. I was told I need to get a ls1 throttle body for mine, they are 75mm at the smallest. I think stock is somewhere in the area of 52mm.

Gotpsi? 07-31-2010 02:36 AM

none of these mani's have the TB in the stock location, I could use the stock TB if some one wanted to but I recommend something bigger, the LS1 TB's are just so easy to come by, you can get them off of any F body or corvette forum.

Gotpsi? 07-31-2010 02:38 AM

This one would be the closest to stock location but defiantly not exact.
