$167 for materials/parts...at a sale price of $230, that'd leave about an hour's worth of labor to actually build it and no room for profit...not sure how quickly Corky/his welder can build one after it's jigged, but I imagine it'd be at least an hour.

That's why you don't see any downpipes for $230.

That is something that a lot of people really take for granted. Once you start doing your own fab work you start to understand how difficult things are, and it becomes much easier to understand some of the higher priced components.

Yup...took me most of the day to build my own, as well.

On my HKS on my stainless DP.
2 @ 2 1/4" 90's,
2 @ 2 1/2" 45's,
4' of 2 1/2", &
Some 1/2" plate steel to make the flanges.
And 3 O2 bungs...
