Oh, by the way, I took another look at your buildup pictures and just wanted to say that is a really baddass job you did on that car and I bet it will be a blast to drive once you get your megasquirt teething problems sorted out (which you will, but MS demands a certain level of frustration for some of us before it decides to comply). Anyway, keep up the good work and I am dying for a video of some action and dyno numbers when you get it tuned.

I'll definitly post updates when I have some. I'm going to look for plugs for the COP parts I picked up. We'll see if they get me my tach back. I also hope going back to the DIY format and configuring my map accordingly helps...

I have a camera mount and vidcam with a wideangle lense... so once I get to an autoX or track event.... I'll be posting video and pictures.

It's alive! No boost until i get accurate IAT though.

What do you guys think of these possible vents? I'd just adhere them to the top of the hood and cut area below.

i like it ver symetrical i dunno if it would contribute to higher post radiator pressures but that has a slim chance of happening in my view. Get that AIT yo

I think my main goal with them would to be to vent engine bay heat while sitting.

dude, totally BA.
+1 for ugly and fast.
Just one noob question, what's a miotta? Does it have something to do with the engine(what engine is that)?

My last name is Ott

It's a stock 1.6L.

Now that I have a miata running finally... we should get the chicago peoples together sometime.

you are gonna love it when you get that thing tuned up fairly nice. I have two miatas and my turbo/megasquirt miata is finally to my liking enough to be daily driven and gets better mileage too ... it is just so much fun to drive.

As for those vents, im not really feelin em to be honest and I would say a properly louvered hood (like what 2/3 cobra from M.net did). Those just sort of stick out a bit too much. What are you doing for headlights, lids, paint, etc? I think it would look baddass if you painted it black to match the bootlid, but im a sucker for black.

It's a 323 gtx valve cover.

And so many people keep saying ITBs... as stated above.. there are none. I have room if I wanted to later to put a set into the runners of the intake manifold. I even have the parts to do it... but it is a very very very low priority. Doubtful I'll ever take the time to tackle that clusterf$#k.

Headlight lids are being replaced with sheet aluminum. We still haven't finished the hood. You can sorta see it in one picture, there are driving lights behind the corner light area.
