35 bucks intercooler and piping!

That is one hell of a deal...

You honestly do not need to hold that FMIC like rock solid, once you have the piping and maybe a bracket here and there is more than enough.

agreed. I always thought I over engineered when I used one L bracket to hold up my 24"x12x3" IC.

Although I'm using 2 L brackets now to hold it from the top and one more attached to the rad to stabilize it!

My Dad was all excited about building something, so we just went at it. We don't spend that much time together, so it was pretty cool to hang out with him. I figured the mount was a little overkill. Is there any site sponsors that sell silicone couplers and reducers? I also need a few 2" pipes and maybe some 2.5". If anyone has anything laying around I'd be glad to take it off your hands. Mainly I need 2 2.5" 90* silicone elbows.

mandrel-bends and BEGi both have silicone.

It's cool to do stuff with your dad, mine was never able to when I was a kid. We've had the miata since '95. He was going to sell it in '00 when he couldn't drive it anymore, then he had a major surgery and was once recovered was able to do a heck of a lot. That was about the time I started getting into motorsports and convinced him to keep it. So we started working on it together, but it's gotten again to the point now where it's just my car and since I park it at his house when I'm not going to be driving it for long period of times, he reaps the rewards of all the work put into as of late.

You are asking for gold, I do not know why but the silicone hoses are expensive as hell...

Here is a link you can try>

cxracing.com: Silicon Coupler Reducer

I usually buy them on the one and only ebay, prices tend to be even across the board.

Alright guys, a little update. My desktop took a dump on me and since I needed a laptop for MS when I get it, I went out and bought one. I painted the bracket black and spaced the bottom a little so it had plenty of room near the radiator. I've got some silicone couplers on the way, and I think I've got all the piping except for one 45* 2". I'll post some pics when I get it all done. I hope to start after work tomorrow, my buddy should have some rubber couplers I can use for just a mock up.
