326cc Injectors
For local EPA reasons I am stuck with the factory computer for injector control off boost. Anyone have experience fitting 326 to 330 injectors relying on the factory ECU for off boost running? Would like to know if the ECU can correct for the increased flow and give reasonable idle and cruise.
Also wondering if the RC Engineering saturated 330s are PNP. New Denso 195500-2150s are Aus$300 each, so the new RC injectors look cheap from here. I would like to reduce the amount of fuel from the 5th injector for distribution reasons.

Injectors
There are some post on here about the 305 -330cc injectors. The 90-93 will idle up to 330cc injectors. They said you that you have to adjust the afm though. They said the 305cc idle rich and the 330cc have to have the afm adjusted.
I don't know about the newer cars.
I'm plaining to do the same for temporary budget and impatient reasons. Will they let you get away with a piggyback???????
Joe Perez has one for sale.

I have a piggy back controlling ignition and the auxiliary injector when in boost. No control of the factory injectors, but I would like some more head room for more boost.
The fuel pressure is controlled when in boost up to 100psi at whatever rise gradient I choose with the Aeromotive auxiliary pump and controller. A bit crude but my AFR and exhaust temps are borderline fine around 10psi. Looking to increase to 14psi, which should put me in the best part of the turbo map. I'm hoping that 330s will cope. May need a reducing boost curve at higher RPM.

Hi DMD,
The Denso 330cc high impedance injectors out of a 323-GTX are plug and play. I have a set in my 1991 MX-5. They pop up on ebay every so often for reasonable prices.
I have a stand-a-lone Link ECU so I can't comment on the question around the factory ECU controlling 330cc injectors at idle.
I have a set of Denso 550cc high impedance injectors that are for sale, but I guess they wouldn't idle to well on the factory ECU.
J.
Did you know that the Victorian MX-5 club is hosting Natmeet 2008 in Beechworth. There should be upwards of 50 MX-5s there over easter.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Been away. DMD are my initials. I'm a CPA. Don't you just love acronyms!
Will check out the MX5 gathering at easter. Thanks Juffa.
I can't seem to locate 326cc injectors locally, so it will be the 330cc RC Engineering saturateds plus the Flyin Miatta wiring adapters. Glad the exchange rate is around US90c. I am still a little concerned about off boost running. Just have to see how it goes.
