I don't mean to pull a "hustler" :P but the plan is on hold for a little bit pending a different turbo path. I save the original post in case I continue, but I'm debating doing something different to the miata. I'll get back to you.

Ohh and I'll just throw in a Tig to build this project that i already turned my pockets inside out for.
You're a crazy man, but it's gonna be badass. Is m2cupcar going to hook you up with engine mount stencils?

I already have the adapter plate stencils from rob (m2cupcar), I'm sure thats who you meant. Also, I have spent alot of money on the parts, but thats because I bought all quality parts this time around. I could have shaved off some money buy buying knock off WG and BOV sure, but it really wouldn't have been much in the grand scheme of things. I haven't spent $15k yet, thats for sure, and its not going to get that high. This is the extent of what I have wanted to do to the car since I bought it, and if it wasn't this car it would have been a different one.

I like to think of it as, look how much I saved by doing it myself. At any rate, I just need to add a roll bar, and some racing seats. Then I will have a great street/track car. I am not building this for drag, thats almost as boring as nascar, but I really want to have something that kicks *** on the track. Although I'm not very experienced right now, I have nothing but time to grow into the car.

Sounds like you're just doing it right the first time instead of replacing all the cheap **** you bought to begin with after it all broke or wasn't good enough. Though i don't think you have enough accordion style intake tubing in your parts list?

Wow. My an old friend of mine, that I have lost contact with :(, did the first FE3 swap that we know off. You are going to LOVE IT!!!! He was putting dowing 300 something wheel hp with a busted head gasket and leaking exhaust manifold the first time he dynoed it. It is going to be a very fast car.

But why the 6speed, no one has really proven that it is stronger, and 1st gear can be useless in a turbo car.

yes, it has been proven stronger. The car that is putting down over 600whp on the FM 2L stroker had a 6spd when he was around 500whp when it was in the yellow chassis. He didn't break it until he went over 600whp.

At any rate, I have to figure out something since I can't find any TII parts, even with a WTB add up on rx7club....

He'll need a set of 3.693 rear end gears for this beast anyway, that should make the 6spds 1st gear semi functional. You know for things like idling into a parking spot... lol

cool i guess i didn't read close enough to see that you were going to be doing all the assembly and hard work yourself. Should save a good deal of money. Also I guarantee that you will not regret putting down the money for a solid motor from the get go. It has brand new pumps for water and oil correct? Did it recieve the stroker crank to bring it up to 2.3?

No, its not a stroker. It is built to rev to 9k with ease.

And 400~500 has been held in a 5 speed for a while. How long did the guy with the yellow car have a six speed in? How did he treated? Just because it held together in one car doesn't mean anything. My Diff in my 1.6 lasted 4~5 years did that make it stronger?

Several 6 speeds have proven stronger than the 5 speeds. This is not a new phenomenon.

I'm surprised you haven't found any TII trans. They're on ebay regularly. I got two from a local Mazda shop that has done some LS v8 swaps. I just searched car-part.com and came up with over 30 results ranging from $100-800.

If you keep the ppf the 6 spd will make things easier. I have read that the 6spd is stronger than the 5spd in it's case and the internals.

Once you get that engine in there, you're big problem will be keeping the front wheels on the ground on "take off".
