Most of the book is about theory. It teaches you how to read compressor maps, how to understand the dynamics of air mass vs. volume, there's a bit of math, lots of general principles... None of that stuff has changed over the years.
It's a book about turbocharging, not a book about engine management. There is some discussion of fuel and ignition management, but it's hardly the meat of the book.
