ArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrTech for when the turbo is installed.

Went with the 0.64 FWIW - 0.86 housings are actually really cheap for when I'm ready to build my engine.

isn't that what you're already doing?

.64 is great at low boost but expect it to choke up towards redline

Completely expected. But until I get a fully built engine, I'm not prepared to really push the turbo, and theoretically 0.64 should spool faster than a 0.86.

Not from what I have seen, unless I am not comparing the same turbos.

Comparing the price advertised of an identical turbo from two dealers and the manufacturer? However at the bottom of real streets web page it shows a chart with all the precision turbos and the prices and for that particular turbo (5431E) it says 674.99 which is msrp but if you ad the turbo to your cart its still the 749.99. Not sure if its like this for all the precision turbos they have for sale, but if so that is awfully high.

When I said I missed your comparison, I meant that I misunderstood your comparison. I had thought that you were comparing the turbo listed in your comparison to the turbo this discussion is about, and I was wrong, so my post became pointless.

Though slightly irrelevant to post several different prices for a totally different turbo, your comparison definitely showed that real street's price on that turbo is higher than other places.

I would be shocked if Real Street Performance price matched non-advertised prices.

Just my 2c. Where I got it from is the cheapest I found anywhere, by far, and the seller is somewhat reputable.

I'm not invested in anyone here buying turbos, but as someone who used to work in the industry at one of the largest Precision dealers, you might be surprised what a phone call can accomplish.

So, looking for thoughts here.

I'm assuming the wastegate is 8psi. Looking at 2860RS charts, it should be safe at 8psi pressures on a stock engine since the 2860 is only around 180-190 rwhp at that level.

Do you guys think it'll be safe with wastegate pressure until I can get the engine built and dyno tuned?

you cannot determine how much HP a motor will produce from a compressor chart.

I would think it should be OK, but I was just rereading 99mx5's thread today, and he vented a block on 10PSI with the EFR6258.

I was making ~270rwhp for like, ever, on a stock '94. Run all of it. New engines are cheap.

You know how much air is going in, you know how much fuel is going in, math happens and you get a rough idea of power.
