Default DSM Water Cooled Turbo Coolant Lines

I would like to some pics of anyones setup that is using a water cooled DSM turbo.. I am trying to figure out how im going to attatch my coolant lines to the turbo.. I know that from the factory it used banjo fittings going to a rubber line.. I have the banjo bolts, but not the fittings.. I was looking at buying banjo fittings with barbs and attatching rubber hose. But the biggest i could find was for 5/16 hose. That seemed kinda small to me. So any help or sugestions would be apreciated. The coolant inlet and outlet on the turbo are 12mm x 1

The lines that you tie into at the coolant neck are 5/16". If you are interested I can get you stainless hard lines for your application, or just some hose to route after the banjo bolts.

Most people use 3/8 tubing for coolant lines, I'm willing to bet 5/16 would be alright.

I looked at my banjo fittings and noticed that even thought I have huge 1/2" lines running to them (or maybe they are 3/8") there is a huge restriction where the water goes into the turbo. I think you are worried about something you shouldn't be.

Agreed, the water lines don't have to be that big.

I've got a DSM T25 that I'm running. I'm using the original factory hardlines that are about 6-7" long each (connected by banjo's to the turbo)... and then hose to the water connections. I'm at work now, but will try and post pics within the hour and I'll be sure to incude the hose diameter that I'm using.

i think what i really need is a fitting that is 12mmX1.25 on one end, and 5/16 or bigger barbed on the other end... then i can just attatch the water line to that... anyone know where i can get that?

I'm going to recommend against that. Heater hose is not meant to operate at the temps they'll reach when connected that close to the CHRA... you need to have some sort of a leader off the CHRA and then attach hose to it. I'm not sure how long they'll last or if they'll melt, but it's a bad idea.

The hose I'm using is 3/8. You could get away with 5/16 at the block, it'll fit on with a little persuasion, but 3/8 and hose clamp is the ticket.

You can see one side of the turbo, and then the other side where the lines connect. You'll notice the DSM compressor housing gets in the way a little, and I had to bend the hard-lines to get them where I wanted... but that's the best bet.

The pink circles indicate hose clamps.

Rican, my CHRA is from a 2g DSM, the Compressor housing is from another 2gDSM, the turbine housing is from an SR20det, and the rotating assembly is from yet another 2gDSM. FRANKENTURBO! Yup, I bought 4 turbos to make one.
