Default Problems popping in exhaust

Just picked up the turbo car to use for parts but would like to get it running right before I take the kit off the car.

The car has a Greddy kit, Saab intercooler, Bipes, BOV by Baileys, when I floor it the car gets a popping in the exhaust, any ideas?

too much fuel, not enough fuel, or you just suck at life.

If it happens upon acceleration, then yea... too much fuel. If it happens when shifting, it might be too lean.

Ok tried knocking the boost up and down, gets worse with higher boost but with low boost it's still struggling to rev up, being new to turbos really I'm not sure where to look to fix it, will pull out the plugs and check the gap and condition first as that's easy start, what sort of psi should I be running, btw it's got a blue vortech fuel reg on it too and a manual boost controller.

Plugs look very white so guessing not enough fuel? new set of plugs, fuel filter also hasn't cured it.

any ideas where to look now? if its lacking fuel or gettign too much how can I alter it?

Cheers

I'm gonna guess the car doesn't have a wideband in it.

I don't think it has one no. I played with the bipes and changed the retard from 8 to 4 and it's reving cleaner now, just need to find my timing light and check the base setting

I would install a widebad into the down pipe. Sounds like you are running way too lean. Do you know what injectors you are running? Does the car have an upgraded fuel pump? Do you know what the fuel pressure is when in boost? Does the car have an o2 clamp?

year and what engine would help too.

is this just sitting in the driveway or did you go out and test drive it? With it sitting in the driveway and 0 load on the engine you will get false results.

Any leaks in the exhaust system? Closer to the head the more pops you will get.

Have been test driving to make sure its running, well the timing was set to 5 degrees, plus another 8 was being knocked off with the Bipes, reset to 12 degrees and bipes set to take out 6, the car is revving freely and no popping now going on.

The car is on standard fuel pump and 1.6 injectors still, its just a basic Greddy kit with a intercooler and a baileys BOV and bipes.

I'm running at 6psi on full boost, everything seems to be ok at the moment.
