Question about big exhaust

Whats the fattest the pipe should be (for a turbo'd miata)? I'd put a muffler on it so it's not too loud. Is it worthwhile to go over 3''? Or dual 2.5''s?

go 3" with the biggest muffler you can fit.

Unless you plan on making more than 500hp, go with 3".
