How'd that work out? Any pics or articles? I'm curious how they did it.

I came into this thread expecting egg plant, I was pleasantly surprised. Op if you want to really make this cop proof just make a nice heat shield over the whole thing so it looks like a big oval muffler. You might have to battle some actual heat problems then so it might not be worth it.

For his setup WI is a perfectly fine charge cooling solution, especially to keep the stealth factor.

Thanks for thought. What does WI mean? I'm not to worried about a cop crawling under the car. The car is surprising quiet and the turbo can't be seen from the back. Everything is really clean and I'm 60 years old. If I was 21 and drove really radically I might get a second look and a hood pop. You really can't tell under the hood unless your knowledgeable about rear turbos. How many cops have heard the words rear turbo or even know they exist.

And in an area where it's not going to receive the best airflow, presuming that it's tucked up behind the rear bumper cover.

I mean, before you all go crazy on the concept it looks to be mostly just tacked into place. For all you know this was just to test fitment and maybe then add ducting or something for rear evacuation of the heat.

Did you even read the article? Or look at the pictures. It was quite a finished system. Had heat shielding and everything.

Yeah, I mean, it says it right at the beginning...

"The turbo system photos are for a prototype system only. IT WILL NOT BE THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM SOLD. The turbo system is mounted under the rear bumper. The big secret was the rear mount congifuration, Corky was not sure if it would work much less how well. But it does work and throttle response is real good. So we can let "the cat out of the bag". This has probably been the most well know secret BEGi has had. The production turbo, which will commence shortly, will be in the engine bay with a relocated battery."

I'm glad that someone highly regarded in the business did it and got good results. I think maybe the big issue with the rear mount is that BEGI would not want to deal with STS rear turbo guys patent. You can build one offs and there's no issue but if you sell a system then STS would play the patent card even though they have folded the Patent is still out there.

So, what are you saying? Begi is or is not? Kinda left that wide open. So what I think and maybe a few others may think now is that they are not highly regarded. Is that what your trying to say?
