I already have a POS oversized turbo. That's why I'm considering the turbo you suggested and running it around 15psi until I finish rebuilding my spare motor where I could utilize it turbo to its full potential.

if he picks the right replacement, then it will be so much better he'll paypal me money for just leading him in the right direction.

yeah that's a good start. starting at 2k rpm, and on a flat road. so we can look at what it's doing as well as plot it out in VirtualDyno (per that thread).

I love comparing people's setups/results. Its fun

before/after boost plots and 3rd/4th gear pulls would be great.

your post talking about how ******* awesome i am for pioneering this turbo will also be appreciated.

Emilio sent out my clutch so I should be able to start putting it back together next week

I have the car apart with the engine out, so I will not be able to post before data unless I can find an older log. Any easy way to determine what gear the log is in?

Turbo is here. It is not seized or broken in half. Always a good sign right?

Looks small compared to old turbo. Came in Emusa branded box.

What do people run for filters on such small inlets? I was running a vatozone cone, but it will be too large in diameter even with their adapters.

My potato on 1.6 was 4,000rpm with a 0.86 a/r hotside and the super unequal length lovefab manifold I had at the time. Boost threshold was like 2 grand though, so it was quite fun to drive.
with 0.64 AR t2 housing and a short runner manifold you could probably get close to 3,500.

t3 housing you will need a small a/r to make 3,500rpm spool on a tater, and then your cutting your top end down.

large diameter intakes are the best.

here's what mine looked like:

2.5 to 3" elbow to a 3" RU-5111 filter that was under my begi cold air box behind the headlight.

You can likely find an appropriate sized adapter on ebay or similar. you will need the coupler to fit the turbo inlet and your filter as well as a short aluminum piece at the bare minimum to fit both the coupler and the filter.

There is always an adapter coupler that will work. if its a metric diameter, you can get the couplers without the inner braid one sized down and stretch it on. Its the inlet side, so there will be no boost to balloon it out. If you do this, it will be floppy, so you will need to brace the filter to either the engine or the chassis somehow.
