I'm pretty sure T3 flanges cost the same as T2. If not they are within reason of one another.

It is. Is 235rwhp at 8.5psi high?

11.5 psi makes more sense, and still not bad by any means. Some on here can't even break 200 with 12psi

I would love to have one of those exhaust manifolds. Perfect turbo placement.

Nice numbers too, man. I bet the car is a lot of fun.

still needs more power. trying to decide between

1. built BP/VVT/6speed/bigger turbo
2.TT KLDE with T5 and some V8 swap rearend kit
3. 'small' cube retarded high rev all alum Ford based Nat. Asp. V8
4. leave it alone

I don't need a 1000hp miata. Turbos not necessary at this time.

LS engines need a dry sump to run a belt drive. Plus you can get better valvetrain geometry with a SBF head than with an affordable LS head.

Do a BP like mine but with VVT. Eventually I want to do a naturally asprirated 2003 swap in my daily w/ MS#.

I really love driving my car. I've driven V8 Miatas, and yes this makes me a wine n cheeser, but my car is more fun on low boost.

Do you have access to e85?
Then build my dream miata turbo setup:
built 1.9
vvt head
10:1 pistons
rods/etc
anything from 2876 to 3582 depending on how soon you want the power and how much of it you want.

Make panties drop
Profit

Yeah if I did build the BP it'd be a bigarse twin scroll EFR ideally (although my cost on tial vbanded garrett stuff is hard to pass up), a build just like jtothawhat's and his gorgeous ARTech mani but my design TS Eq. length mani. VVT with Sav's crank trigger, some head work and whatnot. But all that jazz with a 6 speed would cost similar to option 3, the built ford v8 cause I would be able to borrow the valvetrain and block from the stock shelves at work. Do you know how cheap a forged rotating assembly is for the windsor SBF?! With what I am fortunate/lucky enough to have access to by working where I work I feel obligated to take advantage of it.

The KLDE is just something that I think sounds great and would be more in touch with the miata's character and get better gas mileage (ha!).

I want like 500whp reliably. Again at this time LSx isn't in my interest but could be cause a reliable & more importantly streetable 500hp out of those is simple too.

I would do an F20C long before I built a BP. They're getting cheap enough to be worth the effort, and they're indestructible at 9000rpm and 500hp. With that much rev range you can be perfectly streetable with a 3076, in fact you might need a bigger turbo to keep out of boost for drivability's sake.

Honestly, I think you'd have to battle the thing to make it go the speed limit so you could keep your license. A 500hp Miata would be well above 600cc sport bike power: weight ratios.

I would have to vote for the KL, not just because I am a die hard mazda fan, but because it sounds like incredible orgies in the land viking gods and sexy ******. (rap music sucks, listen to the car)

Granted that is a KLZE not a KLDE, but I would hope they sound the same. Any reason why you want the DE over the bigger ZE?

EDIT: That 323 in the vid is now running high 10's at just over 260whp N/A

I vote for the ford v8. With your connections at work it seems like a no brainer. The sounds they make at high rpms are beautiful in my opinion

before even seing your post i had 323, escort and festiva in craigs list. LOL
If that thing is rockin stock internals thats really amazing.
If your set on making big numbers id go ford, if you dont want 500+hp then stick with the bp. Eagle rods cp pistons set is like 800$ throw in boundry gears and your shortblock should be good to go for at least 350lb/ft.
One of my previous cars was an 89 fox with a 408, stock 95 lightning block with eagle cast stroker kit and vic jr top end pack it made 565whp on the motor, 812 and over 950 lbs/ft on a 300 shot. It made it through about 8 bottles before the tranny (3550) which is rated at about 400lb/ft gave out. If you do a ford motor use a t56 or a 3550, t5s break and tkos feel like your trying to karate chop concrete blocks to get it in gear. I would say regardless of power output turbo cars are alot more fun. I would take a 300hp turbo 4cyl over a 350hp v8 any day.

That 323 belongs to Leo from PR...

Its actually a KL-DE
interprep cams and springs
ze heads
wiseco pistons
forged rods
hayabusa throttles
electromotive stand alone tec 3 fuel and spark
short runner headers with custom down pipes open exhaust
external oil pump
heads are stock

Currently he's making 253whp, and revving to 10k rpm
His most recent time is 11.4 @ 118mph w/ a 1.68 60'

Heres a pic of the itb setup:
