Default Small crack in header HELP!

Okay well as some of you know i just got this Miata yesterday. Now i noticed that it lagged somewhat due to the bigger turbo. But it seemed to me that it was just not even spoolin fast enough. So today i checked all the couplings etc and traced it to a crack on my tubulars just below the flange where the turbo mounts

Now i know its a alliminum material and i was wondering if i can weld this crack wich is as wide as a hair and about 3/4 of a inch long, or do i buy some of that expensive *** putty crap?

If i can tig weld it can be repaired by my neighbor. Just wanted to make sure i wasnt gonna burn a hole through it.

If you honestly think your turbo manifold is aluminum, you're in for a world of hurt. At least post a photo of it so we can see which crappy eBay manifold you're stuck with.

I know its not alluminum and its not the manifold. Its just below the cast iron flange that bolts up to the headers.

I have no idea what you're trying to say. Is the crack on the manifold or the turbo?

Nearly Gay-run-t'd that is an ebay manifold. The welds around the runners are a little too "dime stack" for any normal human (tim and abe excluded). Also, the finish of the material is very close to the ebay headers and manifolds I've seen.

If you are so convinced that it isn't a Chinese piece, did the seller clue you in as to where it originated?

I would also address the blue silicone looking boost line that appears to be resting on the mani. That could be a problem about 15 feet down the road. That corrugated plastic look is not going to save it. Re-route it if you want to have boost control.

fixed dat fer ya.

verty, can you take a blurry picture of it and a few other non-related items and be vague and perhaps a bit ambiguous about the problem? Be sure to use incorrect terminology and make several incorrect assumptions in your line of questioning to unwittingly baffle those who might offer rational assistance based on experience and expertise. Thanks.
