So yeah I am not going to buy F1 Racing clutches again...
So I am swapping to a 6 speed because I blew my 5 speed, and I just got the trans out today.
And I am sorta glad I did because if I ran this clutch much longer, **** would have gone down. Ill let the pictures speak for its self. (Mind you this is with less than 10k miles, only around 3k was at 13 pounds of boost on my ebay t3, the rest were at lower TQ levels. Mostly normal driving with two times at a drag strip).
Yep, it was wearing to the rivets and the ceramic was delaminating!
I am putting in an ACT clutch.

were you slipping this clutch?
Sav: were you slipping yours?
slipping ceramic clutches is bad mojo. the metal matrix will wear away very quickly and take the pressure plate and flywheel with it.

I have a Spec metal clutch and it's been pretty good. It leaves smooth for what it is and it's still going strong after 100-hours/25k miles. I may replace it soon, but it's still a decent clutch.

I ran with a light flywheel, so it had to be slipped a little more when taking off. Other than that, I did not get much slippage under power, only if I turned up the boost more than what I was comfortable with. I thought I treated it well, but I guess not.
I am with 18psi, no more ceramic for my street car haha.
ACT XD with organic disk for the win.

I daily drove it for 30,000 miles, so I would slip it off stoplights and stuff, yeah. It never slipped from excessive power, though. It was definitely grabby for the first ~1000 miles or so, but after that it was much more docile (or I just learned to drive it). Installed it at ~126k, turboed at ~130k, and removed it around the ~160k mark, after I had put 3 or 4 track days at 260whp on it. It was definitely worn out when I removed it, but I had ACT re-puck the disc for $50 and as far as I know the new owner is still using it. The Red Rental has an ACT HD/street disc in it and I could probably fool most people into thinking that it has a stock clutch. ACT = winning.
The ACT XT that was in the Rental chassis when I bought it was horrible in comparison - harder to drive than my 949 ceramic twin.

im not a fan of puck clutches... they feel weird to me...i hated my stage 3 xtd 6 puck... it slipped within 4 months of installing it. my centerforce dual friction lasted a bit longer(6 months) now im using a spec stage 3+ and im a big fan of its holding ability and its quick engagement. i can spin the tires in 3rd most of the time and in 4th sometimes.

Like Sav and cardriverx mentioned: this bitch is insanely touchy and gets 10x more so when it heats up.
During the 1st 20 minutes of driving it was actually quite pleasant.
Once it was heated up though, it went from "grippy" to "I WILL SKULLFUCK YOUR FLYWHEEL"

Same here. I think the heat up was the issue. If I ever slipped it a little more than normal and it heated up, it was ****. I would have to wait 15 min for it to cool down again before it would hold at full power. Maybe that is what did it in.
