Somebody School Me In Turbos Please
#21
ok so now for the parts list. just trying to make sure i haven't forgotten any thing.
- Turbo Option 1 (t25) / Turbo Option 2 (t28) expect wrong turbo (ebay special)
- Mainfold These are garbage and they crack....all the time
- Flanges and Gaskets You dont need any gaskets... get vbands if u can
- Exhaust Flange Studs
- Exhaust Flex Joint acceptable
- Intercooler acceptable
- Intercooler Piping Acceptable
- Blow Off Valve would work until it rips
- Cheep *** Air Filter
- Mega Squirt PNP though the price on ms3 makes it very tempting. how hard is it to set up compared to the pnp?
- IAT Sensor thats good
- EBC Solenoid Kit Turbo has a wastegate
- Wideband O2 Sensor Good
- GM MAP Sensor I think MS has internal map sensor

so next question where does one find an style fittings for the t25/t28 turbos? my google fu is failing
i;m sure jegs has them but i'll be damned if i know what thread pattern the t25/t28 turbos have.
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...rm=an+fittings
so what bov would you recomend?
on the ebc. i was under the impression that a bost controller would be needed to up the waste gate pressures to the roughly 12-14 psi i would need to make the 200 whp i'm shooting for, since most of the turbos i've seen we pushing 6-8 psi wate gates. the ebc from megasquirt seemed like a fairly good cost effective option since i'll be using ms anyway.
what do you mean you don't need gaskets? and where do i find the appropriate flange with v bands?
i know the manifold is not great, and prone to cracking, but this it the best of the tube type that i saw for cheep since it's using the extra gussets and bracing. i'm hoping once i add a support bracket to the manifold to help support the turbo weight and do the same for the down pipe it should hold. if not i'm only out a couple of hundred bucks. (in the end you get what you pay for though. i'm well aware of that)

oh and injectors!
after beating my brain against the wall for 20 - 30 minutes i realized that i need a 454cc injector since i'm going to run the stock 43.5 psi fuel pressure... which is the closest match to Braineack's reccomended 460cc RX-7 injector /facepalm.... of course i see that after i worked though all the math problems below it in the faq...
