taping oil pan
#25
1/2" NPT fitting = 23/32" bit
3/8" NPT fitting = 9/16" bit
both of which are larger than the fitting/tap you're aiming for.
for the record, doesn't make any friggin sense to me either.
also for the record, to the original poster, learn how to use google and figure out what size drill bit you need yourself... don't ask the guy behind the parts counter at napa... savington's right. if you can't figure out what drill bit to use for a 3/8" tap, or where to get some mineral spirits, you might want to rethink boosting your miata.

hope you're not insinuating that you don't drill a hole bigger than the size of the NPT fitting you're installing...

C'mon man what's knowing drill size and tapping **** have anything to do with working on a miata or boosting it. I may not know a lot about boosting, but I sure do know how to do everything to a miata. The point is I didn't drill the hole bigger than anything. I just swap the oil pan out to avoid keep going to the parts store. Yes it's a lot more work, but it works. BTW I'm not from here and I didn't know what mineral sprints was, but now I do.
