Default Turbo hardware question

I知 looking at the ATP turbo studs and lock nuts and wondering, do I need the lock washers as well? I知 going to be running stage 8 hardware on one of my builds but for my budget build I知 having trouble finding the correct configuration of turbo hardware

Yes, lock washers are essential. Unless you are using self locking nuts. You can use plain washers with lock nuts. In jet engines, which are really big *** versions of a turbo, (or maybe a turbo is a small version of a jet engine...lol)...we use "jet nuts" which is a 12 point self-locking nut. For bolts, which of course can not be self locking, we use safety wire. In short....for non locking fasteners you need a lock washer, safety wire or cotter pin...for self locking hardware you are good with plain washer.
