Default What turbo do you have?

Hi I'm after some advice,

I currently have a TD05 hybrid turbo on my 1600cc MX5. Makes 18psi by 3800 rpm and produces 284hp atw at 6200rpm. However I think there is a much better suited turbo out there. I would like something that comes on boost much earlier and efficently pushes 30+ psi by 3200rpm and is still capable of flowing 650cfm.

Considering a brand new Garrett GTX2863r... Maybe a Holset as they are rated to 50+ psi, unfortunately there isn't much info out there about them... and they are generally way too big for what I require

Does anyone have any suggestions or knows someone that has a 350+hp set up that is torquey as hell?

Look and sound cool but a bit big for what I'm after... Kiss goodbye to mid-range torque and responsiveness

18psi is spot on, that should give you lots and lots of low end torque, with a great top end as well.

From the garrett front, GTX2863 or GTX2867 should also serve you well.

I have a 6758. Currently only running it at 10psi because any more and I'll be breaking 5 speeds too often.

I have a 2560, but I still need to gather some more pieces before installing it.

If you really want a turbo that can do the above, you need to stop thinking GTX and start thinking EFR. and then still come back to reality...

Proud owner of a chinacharger, ilovetacotaco, T3/T4 .50 trim, works like a charm at 15 psi with 550cc. For now on bandaids, lots of fun...
