Default What turbo manifold works with factory AC in a 1.8 NB?

I know the MSM would require switching to the smaller MSM AC compressor, which is a real pity as they're available and inexpensive. What other manifold has no issues with clearance on a factory AC and power steering? If I had to lose the power steering, I can live with that. Used to have a 68 corvette with manual steering

You ready for the answer? Ready? Ready?

ALL OF THEM.

Seriously. All cast manifolds from FM, BEGI, KRAKEN, TSE, TACOTACO, AVO.

they are all ac and ps compatible.

If it makes you feel better, that "MSM kit" is also the worst option out of the list.

You dont want an MSM manifold/turbo anyway. It's a shitty performer compared to even the most basic fm/begi/kraken manifold and a cheap t25 turbo.

I realize I’m trying to sell one in the classifieds, but I’d argue it’s not a bad option. Wouldn’t really call 230hp a bad performer either. Weld a -10 bung to the drain flange, get a 12x1.25 to -3 for the oil feed, then plumb the intercooler like any other. Downpipes are easy to make, or catted stock versions are cheap, OEM heat shields are awesome, and there’s an OEM brace to the motor mount to help with stud issues.

Yes there are drawbacks, it doesn’t breath great up top, you need the Msm mixing manifold or modify a 90-05 one, but I’ve seen them go as low as $300, mines available at only 30k for $500 shipped. A comparable setup from FM is $750 for mani/dp and a 2554 is another $750. Yes that’s a full non-catted dp and zero mileage everything, but still makes the Msm setup look OK.

The Miata doesn't require power steering. Reduce the Caster to 4° in your alignment settings and the effort will be low enough. Mine is 4 1/2.

I have a Flyin Miata iron manifold with oversized 10 mm inconel studs locally here in Tampa. I've been hanging on to it but probably don't need it.

at least I finally picked up an torsen this last weekend, still haven't had time to install it. I guess one piece at a time isn't the worst way
