IGN-1A race coils - as used on our turbo Miata
Yes, these are the same as one of the coils that 034 offers.

These are very good coils, we have been using 034 motorsport coils on our cars for almost a year now. No problems at all, seems to handle beating very well

That coil seems badass though.
How much work would be involved in modifying the MSPnP *non-diy* to accept and run these coils? Is it merely a programing thing or are there hardware changes/updates that need to be made?
Except for a few very early MM9093 units, nothing. They just need the dwell backed off a little.
I'll be in the market for a ignition setup in the next month and I just ran into this thread.
I had planned on going the OEM Toyota COP route, but if this is a better choice I'm down with that.

I can have a bracket made, do the wiring myself, play on the laptop with MSPNP, but I would like to know exactly what it is I have to do before I buy anything.

That's the exact set up (MSPNP MM9093 and (4) IGN coils) currently on our 1.6 S3 turbo car. Works great. The only issue with a 1.6 car is that you'd need a tach driver, since the original ignitor supplies the signal to the dash tach, and these coils do not do that. Our MM9093 does not have a tach driver on board, however the DIYPNP does. We're chewing over the best way to help people with this, and may offer a schematic and/or parts kit so you can build a tach driver.
94.5 and later miatas have ECU generated tach output, so it's not a concern on later cars. For a 94.5+, all you'd need to do is wire/bolt up the coils and set your dwell time to 2.5 ms. MM9495 and MM9697 MSPNP ECUs all have on board tach drivers.
Here is the coil pinout:
A - Ignition signal from ECU
B - Logic ground, connect to ECU ground
C - Spark wire ground, connect to cylinder head
D - Power ground, connect to battery negative
E - 12 volt power
The connector identifies the pins

The only thing you'd need to do with a Hydra is set dwell time.

Any updates on pictures of these installed in the Miata? I am seriously considering these over keeping my Toyota Cops Setup.

We had some custom Magnecors made for ours.
Chances are if we release a bolt-on bracket for these coils, it will not look like what we put in Jerry's car. That setup was OK for testing things out, but not exactly something we'd feel good about selling.

for a 94 running diypnp.
Basically the only thing keeping me from ordering them now is I have no clue how to mount them and that I have no clue what spark plug wires I would need or where to even start researching that information.
Guys could you give some tips on what wires to get? Do we just call up Magnecor and say I need a wire this length with these _________________ specs?
