the small pipe is the exhaust side of the wastegate which exits just below the block while the bigger pipe is the exhaust side of the turbine which goes all the way to the muffler

did you just take that picture? looks like a bad leak.

it obvious it's not the exhaust; so it's either a leak in the exhaust, a clogged cat, or bad wastegate control. Are you just using a MBC?

how does the actuator rod bend? looks odd, shock brace is blocking the view.

I agree- you've got a WAY bad angle on your actuator rod. Mine wasn't that bad when I got my turbo and I had problems. Basically had to cut up the compressor mount and correct the angle so the rod is perpendicular to the rear of the can (or as close as possible).

this picture was taken a few days after the install which is about a year or so. I already fixed this by making a copper gasket.

I don't have a cat-back exhaust...as can be seen here. But I do use a MBC the HKS Universal VBC

yes, I forget to mention this pull was done in 3rd gear. revving the engine at 2000 rpm, enough to spool the turbo (& not to stall the engine)..then pulling all the way to 6000+ rpm

why does the turbo look so "sooty"? That actuator rod is gnarly. The pivoting arm on top looks to be rotated 180 (should point towards the driver's side?)

Looks to me like your O2 clamp is coming in too late.

Never seen an actuator rod with that much funky angle.. I vote for replace actuator for better alignment with flapper arm.
