[QUOTE This also means that nothing can touch me on the street, except maybe Vlad's car.]
You sure about that?
Congrats on hitting the 11s though. Moving along pretty good.

Well, around here, yes. Of course excluding any heavily modified miatas owned by members of this community.

The short shifting is good but easier said than done. I was chatting with my friend Vince today about it, he suggested trying just 1st and 2nd next week. I have been trying to short shift out of 1st for weeks now, but I have some sort of mental block. That and the tach flies to 7 so quick in 1st that I often overshoot a little.

When I see the red I usually choke, and I did a bit. Vince was bugging me to shift short but a bike went down and we weren't running for a while. By the time we got going again it was almost elimination and I wasn't experimenting then. But when I saw the red it let the steam out of me, but then I decided to try the short shift.

Truly you do shift quickly.

Gimbal is a camera mount for less jittery vids?

Thanks! Yes the gimbal reduces movement and vibration for buzzy videos. I haven't been able to get any decent videos at this power level before.

No, I'm on 205's now, huge! They're crappy ECS' now, which do take well to preheating.

ECSs are actually great tires! I have them on my m3 and love them.

It is really bizarre to see the esses go by so slowly.

I wondered what you guys might think about that. Maximum speed of 15 or 20 mph on the return road, which I was totally exceeding, when I went to Sac I understood why. Fun to see all the tire marks going off the track, but we are totally spoiled with such a nice return road, even has a nice view.

I just opened YouTube and your most recent video was the first thing that showed up.
Just loved how you reeled in the Mustang...
NICE!

Thanks! Sometimes I don't get to see anyone in my videos until elimination.

Flat shift actually holds the correct rpm, it's just difficult to remember not to let my foot off the throttle after so many decades. I agree flat shift will help, first time back in months, and getting used to the mask thing there, maybe next week.

Yes Ian, it actually doesn't hit full boost until 4th gear, as I said, I am not exactly thrilled with this one, which is why I haven't mentioned it. I may put the "Big MK" unit back on at some point but I am still playing with this one for now.

Just having fun with my car as usual.
what are your FFS settings?
I have been wanting to try it but have no idea where to start.
Also congrats on the 11's , I just got into the 12's with my turbo stock 1.6 and federal 205's.

I didn't look at the FFS settings yet but I will soon.

Had a rough night red lit all night long, stalled in the burnout box, couldn't get out of the 12's. Hmmm... Did I miss anything? Anyway had a blast and made a decent video. Removing weight was a huge mistake, again.

Hopefully next week will be better.

These are my flat shift settings. I will point out that this is for the 6 speed 4.3 combo I was running at the time. It is important to set the flat shift RPM according to your logs for your vehicle.
