Headwind doesn't seem to affect my car as much as temperature, for whatever that's worth. Also, I don't know how you guys are weighing your cars. Mine is a comfy street car and 2500lbs is with my track tool box, a jug of water, some snacks, a full tank, and my fat ***. Additionally, a spare tire, jack, lug wrench, factory audio, and 2 stock seats.
Correction factors for elevation don't work for turbo cars, you are correct. Of course, that's true for trap speeds too.
And yes, it's possible to lie to the dyno graphing software about what the ambient pressure is in order to get it to inflate the figures, but at that point you might as well just use photoshop to make a fake dyno sheet.
Used properly (and with understanding the issues involved in altitude and turbo cars) a dynojet is going to give you more information about the power a car is putting out than trap speeds.

And yes, my Miata is 2430 or something like that. The only things that I've done to make it lighter are removing the AC and converting the seats to Recaro PPs. Making it heavier is the turbo system, the hard top (soft top still there), FM frame rails, the radiator with the extra gallon of coolant, the 6-speed, etc.
Once you start playing with correction factors for things like weather and elevation you can absolutely make a dynojet read whatever you want.
I didn't see anyone in this thread claim a dyno is useless.
I wouldnt really say whatever you want lol. Its the most repeatable dyno there is. Nobody has said its useless but you all are discrediting it very much, I was only asking if he had dynoed his car because IIRC hes running a bunch of boost and timing and I feel like it should be going faster. I mean its not slow and 11s are not easy to hit, but just curious what the numbers look like. Heck even a VD run could be helpful. Im a data nerd.

Anyway, really gearing needs to be considered, my car is nosing over in 5th across the finish line because it's faster than shifting to 6th. I bet I could run 125 with a taller tire. "I wish I was a little bit taller y'all, I wish I could've been a baller"
You found the balance between being quick and breaking stuff. It's a pretty hard balance to find.

For a Frankenstein setup using a china turbo with who knows what in it, it's actually pretty fast. If he was using a proper turbo, I too would expect more.
What a night, tons of carnage, a totaled vette into the wall, my friend's 86 blew up, and then there was a spun out mustang just outside the track
They shut us down to only 1/8 after the vette crashed. I did OK. My friends made me this special trophy, not sure if it's a typo or intentional "gaer" than you.
So the typo was unintentional. Not sure if I will try to win money on Sunday, weekend events aren't my favorite. Not to mention a manual car is a huge handicap, I need the best packages of my life to win. So probably be back in March.

I went bracket racing, dang those autos are tough to beat. I was out on the 2nd round, still had fun. Only eighth mile and I am back on dino fuel until racing season.
Thanks Ian. It was pretty slippery, I was spinning a ton, they said they would only do 1/8 mile for the first 3 races this year. I think it's because of the vette that hit the wall in November with similar conditions.
