FWIW, my supercharged setup that weighed 2500 lbs ran 7.58 @ 95 mph, probably 350whp according to online calculators and the VD I ran, manual transmission. Your slip shows 8.08 @ 97mph. Not sure if you're car is heavier than mine, but I don't think 475whp is correct.

With a turbo I trap 6.93 @ 103, again 2500lb car and 400whp.

EDIT: 6.93 not 7.93

To launch I would go full throttle on launch control (4500rpm) then release the clutch pedal until the car moved forward then dump it the rest of the way. Spun every time even at 4000rpm
If you want a better launch, I recommend going to full boost with launch control, and then ride the clutch out to at least 20mph, preferably to 30mph. Like these. Both of these are 1.7x 60' times with a manual and drag radials stock axles.

I dont really base anything on my 1/8th mile since it's so bad. In the video you can see it just spins 1st then bogs 2nd for seconds

I've seen your videos of your supercharged setup. You almost pulled the front wheels up

I know everyone on this site hates sexy time mr mattman but it's been documented that his car needed 500whp to go 130+ in the quarter

Just saw you measured 2100 lbs without you in the car. The numbers really don't add up, if you have 475whp and 2100 lbs, you should be trapping probably 115mph or so in the 1/8th mile. MPH and HP track really well regardless of ET, if your ET is really good the MPH goes down a bit but still it's close. If I do a horrible launch my car will run say 1 sec slower in the 1/8th and trap 105mph instead of 103mph. Small difference.

My car does launch well manual or auto, mostly just experience with the car.

His car was also slow for the advertised hp if I remember right. It's possible your car is also slow for the advertised hp. I could put 800 hp in my car and trap 127mph in the 1/4 mile, so what? That just means I'm doing something wrong or my hp number is way off.

It did bog like hell out of the hole and that hurts mph a bit for sure since you weren't hitting boost till 2nd started to rip. If it launched like my car did, I'd expect you to gain +5mph in the 1/8th mile which would put your 1/8 mile mph closer to what my 2500lb car did with 400whp. If you're 2100lbs, seems like 350-370whp would be my guess. What RPM do you shift at? That makes a difference too in both mph and ET.

Hey, if you go out again, change nothing, and just launch at full boost, slip the clutch to 30 mph. If your car has 475hp, it's going to run probably a 6.4 @ 115+mph in the 1/8mile. Record it, it's be one of the fastest passes anyone has made in a BP miata, surely a record for stock pistons!

Also, I meant to ask, what year pistons are you running?

Be careful with those cast pistons. Sometimes when they fail under high boost they will break apart taking out the rest of the engine along the way. Could even be dangerous if its a catastrophic failure which penetrates the block or pan and oils down at 100+ mph.

While 127mph in the 1/4 is strong for a 4 cylinder, and ballsy with cast pistons, I have to agree with Pat. I'm heavier than you by ~250lbs and trap 105mph in the 1/8th through an automatic tranny as well and doubt I'm much over 400whp, if even that.

What is the trick to keeping those slicks off of your wheel wells or arches? It seems counterproductive to set up the suspension to prevent movement of the rear end.
