Default 97' 1.8 T28 AVO kit

First dyno under turbo power wasn't too bad. 11 PSI, 12:1 A/F, no detonation. Details are:

T28 BB, AVO cast manifold/2.5" Avo downpipe
440cc WRX Injectors
AEM FIC
MBC
Stock exhaust

I've got the FIC pulling ~10 degrees out, base timing at 6. I could probably bump base timing up a hair but it's fine for a quick/safe tune. I'm waiting for a couple new features in the next FIC software release before I strap her down again. According to Henry @ AEM, I should have that release in my hands soon. The other plot was my bone stock run. The car feels like it has a larger N/A motor now. I can't complain.

P.S. I'm aware the stock exhaust is a restriction but I like the silence. I tune/build cars at a shop here in VA, I deal with headaches everyday.

Ryan

hey, 200 HP in a miata is nothing to sneeze at, I bet it does feel like a "larger NA Motor" now. I also understand that quiet is nice because my exhaust gets annoying driving for any longer than 30 minutes.

Sweet it's nice to see people using the f/ic. I may go with that after I have gotten my kit situated and learned a bit more about tuning and that stuff. Did you find tuning the f/ic complicated? When I looked at the software all I saw was a giant grid of numbers and I had no idea where #s were to be put in to tune injectors and all I got on ignition was that -# took away timing.

Oh and nice dyno. It looks like things get a lot more exiting at 3.5k! I hope I can get #'s close'ish to those.

well you probably should fix your timming 6 btdc base timming is silly run 10 and you should still be fine + you will most likely only need 7-8 psi to hit 200whp.

the stock exhaust looks like it's killing about 40-50whp.

im sure you can find an AM exhaust that is quiet. Even if its only 2.25 pipe or similar it will be a big improvement at the high flow you are pushing now. If you keep a cat on the car that helps a lot too.

Nice numbers, wonder exactly how much the stock pipes are killing it..

Maybe a cutout, either boost or manually activated?
