It goes to a catch can which is mounted on the passenger side firewall. It is a -12an line covered in fire sleeve.

Those numbers look amazing.

HoleeShitman strikes again.

I was going to drive over and meet up to this...but my 220rwhp is so slow i count make it. I went into reverse and cried.

I need to see what one of those turbos could do on a 1.6L...that's just crazy impressive.

skidude 10-13-2012 11:25 AM

Well that looks like fun!

Soviet is busy having victory secx with his harem so i will answer quesions in hus stead.

If you only make 550whp at that psi then there is zero hope for me to break 600 with my s366 at the same psi. Balls.

So, in another news, IN SOVIET RUSSIA, BOOST TURNS UP YOU!

Yah. So.

Details on the three runs:

Run 1: Wastegate, 17psi
Run 2: 23psi
Run 3: 26psi, plus 2* timing

I think the car can hit 450hp on e85 and 10psi more :D. The little power taper up top could probably be flattened up with more timing in the last two columns.

Yus. after dyno, we went to some ------ry "car meet" because it just happened to be next door. Scott promised to show up - didn't. After that I spent time with le girlfriend and went to autox today. Just got home.

Car rapes face, turbine wheel didn't explode. Autocrossed at 300whp (wastegate pressure) Autocross is pointless in this car right now because it just spins wheels. Its a hoot but wears out tires quickly. So I'm going to stop autox. Problem solved.

Lars is correct, it's a -12AN line going to a catch can with a breather. It's always dry. I get vapor out of the catch can, that's about it. PCV hole is welded shut.

And here's what everyone really cares about.
http://s95367906.onlinehome.us/photo...EFR6258.png???

However, I don't think that chart fully represents EFR6258. Simply because back then I had very simplistic boost control (open-loop EBC with boost duty table that just had same duty % everywhere).

So here's an example of EFR6258 with my simplistic boost control vs EFR6758 on just wastegate - 17-18psi vs like 17psi peak on wastegate. 6258 clearly wins in spool.
http://s95367906.onlinehome.us/photo...EFR6258.png???

And finally, closed-loop EBC vs wastegate on EFR6758. This clearly shows how superior closed-loop EBC is and why you'd be stupid to not run it.
http://s95367906.onlinehome.us/photo...-wastegate.png

24.5 vs 17psi, identical timing map on both runs.

Pretty sure I'm at the limit of my drivetrain and I DO NOT want to play the expensive "lets stuff a drivetrain from another car into a miata" game.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 10-14-2012 02:14 AM

Thats what I would expect.

Now put some cams in it.

Awesome numbers, congrats.

Fae said "stock crappy 1.8 head" is that a NA head? 99-00? 01+? I guess I need to go study your build thread, I want my car to be just like yours when it grows up.

Soviet is running a stock 94-97 1.8 head.

18psi 10-14-2012 02:09 PM

Actually its a 99-00 IIRC

Faeflora 10-14-2012 02:36 PM

Imagine the dyno chart with VVT. Faster spool. Better top end.

18psi 10-14-2012 02:49 PM

I wouldn't do anything for top end. But faster spool, most definitely

Der_Idiot 10-14-2012 03:09 PM

VVT head, porting and a turbo intake if he doesn't already have one. That spool is pretty badass though, not going to lie. If I only had 5k to throw down on my car...
