ignition map question
This will be suppper easy.. i just changed my timing belt.. and i USED to know this answer but timing belt + emanage made this a critical question...
when i changed the timing belt.. i wanted to check timing base... so i took the emanage map off as a tuning open on the emu... hit gnd and ten on diag... and turned the timing light on.. set base to roughly 8
locked bolt... re-enabled ignition map.. and realized.. er i dont remember - i have 7 as a timing setting on the emu..
is this ADDING 7 degrees or is it just setting the ecu to flat 7 degrees...
the log kept it at 8-9 degrees timing with that setting so.. i was really confused.
Any ideas? After my timing belt.. the engine is supppper smooth but it seems.. less powerful.. it may also be because ive been driving an e55 for 2 weeks but the miata USED to feel quicker to me anyway at 15psi...
maybe off a tooth? or maybe i didnt set the emu timing right...
ideas?
