Is it likely that there is a difference between the 1.8 US spec Miata and the 1.8 Euro spec MX-5?

I dont see any reason why they would change something like that for another market. I had mine running the 5v setup for a while and nothing happened but maybe i was just lucky.

Thanks for doing that Mike. Not only does it show that I need to get the USB O scope for my laptop, but I also threw this in Pop's face.

So if the 99 M2 is 12v, why arent we setting the EMB JP2 to 12v?

Because you're setting them wrong

They'll still run on 5v...mine did for about a month before i changed it to 12. And i guess some seem to tolerate the difference better than others but the signal coming from the stock computer is ~12v.

Sorry guys, tryed to understand this all,
but still confused.
Is it correct to set JP8 on 12V for 99-00 Miatas?
And how is this done correct?

Further, JP7 is Ignition input, is this influencing the
system? Is there need to change it in any way?

Where do I find correct jumper settings for 99-00 1,8 Miata?
