Default settings only stick if I have my laptop

Right now I have to have my laptop connected in order to get the car to start. Otherwise it will just crank but never start.

Does anyone also have a airflow map for a NB? Or an Idea of what the voltage looks like as it sweeps through the revs. And what does your look like in Boost?

Thanks

yea EMU. I save the file in a folder. Then download the info into the emu from the laptop. I start the car it runs fine. But If I unplug the laptop it just cranks and no start....I updated the firmware but ill try again. Any other ideas?

Did you make an afm removal ?

If yes, you should reconnect it and try again.

Maybe you could upload a map, so i have a look on it.

I know this is pretty basic, but are you doing an "Export Data" from the PC to the EMU after you load / edit the setups?

The EMU will hold whatever changes you make in RAM as you perform them, but unless you do an Export to write them into EEPROM, it will forget everything after you power it off. This is why Autotune only works when you have a laptop connected. Technically, the autotune will always run, but without a PC you won't be able to save the changes to EEPROM before turning the car off.

Hello piratetim,

do you use ign. adjustment?
I need to install EMU on 00 NB soon.
I remember a problem with the ign. on NB cars with EMU.

What is your experience about this?

Just dont bother hooking up the crank/cam position sensors. You can still adjust timing but you cant log the actual timing.
