I drive all kinds of brand new cars at work from Mustangs to Accents and they all have their quirks and none of them feel like they have the response of a cable driven unit. They always have a delay in acceleration or a delay when letting off the gas.
Plus I may decide to run ITB in the future.

Well yeah, most dbw cars do that, but that's why you tune it.
If set up correctly, it can be really cool, and even more precise than cable because the car is not reacting from tps inputs but actually anticipating throttle inputs
