Wow! That is a sweet writeup and really clears up things so that i can understand whats involved in the install. Thanks a ton for the write up!
Now, a few questions though. plugging in the connectors into the adaptronic ecu.. does any wiring, splicing or anything need to be done their? or is that all just plug in and go. does the stock ecu get used?
does the adaptronic ecu have 2 db9 ports? 1 for the wideband and 1 for the laptop? can you have the wideband and the laptop hooked up for tunning purposes?
I currently have an LC1 with the db gauge, i assume the instructions will be the same reffering the wideband install?
again, thanks alot for taking the time to do that write up!

Plugin only through DB9

Stock ECU is used also

2 ports - one for WB and one for tuning. Tuning can be hooked up to a laptop for tuning/monitoring on the fly.

LC1 will work but I don't have instructions. I assume it will be the same connections to the Pin 2 and Pin 5 but the install directions will say hot to hook up serially. There is one drop down menu where you select the brand of WB you have to set a communication protocol. Both AEM and Innovative are listed. That should be the only difference.

sweet! i am excited!
how is the driveability? how hard was it to get it idling and tunning and stuff?
i think this is the route i will go. i REALLY like the price and the install seems pretty simple. i should be getting my tax dollars back within a week!

I have driven it 50 miles a day to and from work and around town. for the last three days Idle was good but I had a tip in problem Someone on the Adaptronic.uk forum told me how to fix it. He posts here too, but I forget his name. I just finished it up. Tip in problem has been solved.

Autotune is seamless and completely awesome. I rapid tuned for two days and slow converge tuned the last two days. Hitting target AFR nicely now. It's idiot proof.

It keeps getting better each day. As soon as the first person needs a stock injector base map, I'll post it. The longer I wait the better the base tune will be. The map is scaleable by percentage, so if one has bigger injectors they can load the base map and scale it up. They will have to idle tune by hand as I did. but the scaled map will get them going and it will autotune the rest.

I'm still running on the supplied base map for spark. When I feel the fuel map is tuned, I'll let it auto tune the spark, but I haven't noticed any problems with the base ignition map so far with a hundred full boosted runs.

I can't believe that it is this easy, but it really is.

the more i read ur posts, the more i want to get one. sounds pretty much like exactly what i want.
how much boost are u running now? i am planning on running stock injectors for a while, but will be getting larger ones in next 3-6 months. the install sounds pretty easy, i am just concerned about it running and starting and everything with it in. i had bad experiences with other ecus...
as far as further mods go... i do plan on running meth injection later on, but read that shouldnt be a problem... i am also looking to build the motor and running alot more boost, but this shouldnt be a problem right? as long as i have the proper fueling items and maybe upgrade to cops as well as maybe converting to return style with a fpr.

I'm running stock injectors, 8 psi wastegate. The 550's that I bought didn't work out so well so I sent them back. When I find another set I'm putting them in, adding an EBC and tuning for 10 psi. That should do it.

The Xede works but is as easy as it is hard to tune, mainly because you are completely blind as to what your doing, you must also have a wide band and a obd2 connected to your computer and wrestle between all the screens. Further more and this is the part that would annoy me, but some times you have to add fuel to remove it... you really have no idea what your doing. However With BEGIs support they can get your car running pretty good, so tunning yourself may not be necessary.

I now switched to the AEM FIC, Im very new to it but it seems extremely simple to understand and tune. Because it can control my injectors I have no problems with idling on 550cc injectors.

I havent seen alot of support for it on these forums so I dont know how good it really is, as I just started tuning mine and havent even gotten to a boost state yet.

They now have a way of emulating the MAF on the AEM FIC, it take time to setup and get right but the HOW TO instructions are pretty straight forward.

I think that a MAP sensor on the exed would be useless, simply because it uses the MAF to control fuel, this cannot be tuned well by a map sensor. Timing as well because the more you adjust your MAF signal your real timing could be all over the place. I dont think that you could get a good reliable tune.
