Default Megasquirt for engine swap

Hi there! So I am currently planning on swap a MSM miata engine into my 2000 Nb1. I’ve been told that other than the turbo, the MSM engine and the BP4W are technically almost the same (no vvti and whatnot). My question is, do I have to buy a 99-00 Miata Megasquirt or a MSM Miata Megasquirt?

You always buy the megasquirt for the car chassis year, not for engine year/model.

Got it, thank you! I am really new at this. Also, would you guys recommend the MS2pnp or the MS3pnp? I would be doing the engine swap and a turbo upgrade to it, but looking to stay safe on the 190-200 whp range.

Both will work fine, both can do 600hp.

Ms3 has more features. Newer tech, better idle control, alternator control, boost control. And more.
Ms3 is better to get car closer to stock ecu drivability. Ms2 is fine, but less fine tuning options.

Is it worth it to get the MS3 or is it personal preference. I see a lot of guys run a PNP2 or MS2 and it’s enough but are the features of the MS3 worth the few extra dollars? I’d be getting the DIY kit
