Whatever happened to the Zoom3?
Did the Zoom3 ever officially make it to the market. I know I was interested in one during the past, but I don't know if Begi ever gave it the go-ahead...

FWIW, you will be happier with the Adaptronic. Yes, it's about $300-400 more but it will carry you to whatever level you want to take it and has a ****-ton of features. Zoom was limited to 8 psi and stock injectors.

I see it? But given the price of an Adaptronic... It however allows you to keep the stock ECU for those stuck in OBD2 compliant emission testing states.

Because for that kind of money it is an UTTER PIECE OF **** compared to the Adaptronic...
I mean are you KIDDING ME???
Its like comparing the voodoo box to a Megasquirt.
Its a voodoo box (basically) with electronic ignition retard. Limited to:
stock injectors
stock afm
only 8psi
no spark advance, just retard
And for a couple hundred bux less than an Adaptronic? And not even ANY cheaper than a megasquirt??? Which can pretty much control anything under the sun in your car? HAHAHHA the zoom3 needs to be sold for like 200 bux. That is what its worth to me anyhow.
/rant
PS: sorry for the rant, I was just so damn excited when I heard of it being developed, as at the time we didn't know about the Adaptronic. Then when the features and price were released I was SOO disappointed.

Hey guys...
FWIW the Zoom3 is a good option for those who wanted to plug and play + bolt on a turbo kit with as little hassle as possible.
We're more or less extreem when it comes to the way we build and tune our cars here. Think about it, most of us are suggesting Adaptronic or something super powerful based on price... in this case the audience really is the wrong one. I suppose that we're talking about a cross between a m.net'er with drive?
Seriously, the people looking at a Zoom3 would be the guy on a tight budget that doesn't want to blow up his BEGi-S car while saving money on other mods for the future. It was also the route that I was going too... The adaptronic is much more costly than the Zoom3 if you are gonna do it right.
Anyhow, I think that the Zoom3 will be a good product if the price point was <$400 and better yet.... if BEGi offered a trade up program. Say, buy an S-series kit with the Zoom3 and if you add an IC + other go faster parts while at the same time buying an Adaptronic ECU within 1 year......you get $400 bones back towards the upgrade package. Then a used Zoom3 hits the market and will help another person on an even tighter budget.
Wow... sorry... I need less coffeeeeee in the morning!
Cheers,
M@
