Those are set speeds. We have a "simulated drive" so they accelerate and decelerate and rev it up and shift through the gears. They don't just hold it at one speed at very low load. Also, 50-60mph is roughly twice the speed of yours. Thanks though.

Brain, still waiting on that answer. If you don't know I'd rather hear that.

My car, as it sits right now, could drive to CO, and pass this "simulated drive" test with flying colors.

Sweet man come on out! You can stay at my place and smoke my (legal) weed. Hell you could help me tune my car better too!

Maybe you missed the question I asked, if I open the wastegate fully will the turbo be able to build boost? Depends on turbo/exhaust? Depends on how many fairy stickers on my car? Any idea?

I am stunned that this thread derailed into useful emissions testing and not the usual. The OP's first post well, had i seen this thread earlier, it would have been handled accordingly. Now that I am unfortunately late to the party, I will just say this embodies why Florida is amazing

This thread hurts my brian.

What I've taken away from this massive thread derailment - Colorado is run by hippy ***** and do 0-60 runs on the dyno where turbos are illegal. But weed isn't.

Brian really hurts

For about the same amount of effort and time you put in to this thread, you could have wired your waste gate open and gone for a drive while logging your manifold pressure. Then you would know the answer to your question for sure and not be relying on the speculation of some dudes on the interwebs (very well informed dudes in this case).

No doubt, unfortunately it's on a shelf and not under my hood. Just trying to get a plan together because I'm on schedule to have my setup together about 4 months before I'm due for emissions again and I don't want to wait until after. Us Hitler Hippies also have a RapidScreen program which I will try to pass with instead.

I honestly think youll be able to pass so long as you have a cat and emissions conscience tune.

Check out Alafia River State Park in West Central Florida. I have come out of there with broken bones. Good times!

Yes the car will make boost with the gate open. That is, it will get out of vacuum depending on how they treat it on the rollers. That of course depends on your setup. Turbo housing, WG porting, downpipe, backpressure... Adding more fuel doesn't have to mean more bad stuff comming out the back. It's not about you adding more fuel and failing, its about what the car does with it. It's needs to stay close to 14:1ish. Add air and fuel in a linear fashion, together. If done correctly I'll bet you can beat the stock numbers in boost. There's a big difference from making Vett killing power under boost and passing an *** sniffer test under boost but its very possible.

What's the liability if these guys are reving to 5000+ and your car breaks? The factory numbers are not based off of that kind of use anyway.

Why don't you take it to a different county, like out to FM...can you not do that in CO?

In Texas we just buy the sticker or go to another county that doesn't sniff your tail pipe. With all the smog out here the cops can't see the stickers anyway.

Speaking of which, one of my firends from CT (where they do butt sniff) had his e30 over heated on the rollers yesterday. The testing computer printout shows like 267*F and the car blew steam and coolant everywhere while on the rollers. I've been waiting all day to here what happens to his baby.
