Default Crank work

My crank needs serviced from scratches on the counter weight while hitting the piston with the bent rod.
They are minor but could probably be polished out, while I was looking into getting the crank lightened or knife edged, people were saying to me that:

1) "For turbo application I may not want to lighten it. For heavier mass adds load to spool faster, that lightening is mainly for N/A folks "

2) "Our cranks are nitrided (Nitriding). Get a different one. Once you grind the surface it is softer. But if it's just polishing it's fine"

I'm wanting to try to collaborate information on what options would be best for what goals in our miata's.
