I kind of gathered he wants to have race wars.

Maybe i'm the only one, but i want to see proof this thing exists. Also proof that it runs consecutive laps at this all so glorious power level without destroying.

I'm not driving to FL. It's to damn hot, beers get warm to quickly and the water is dirty salty.

What shop is this again? Innovative Racing Concepts?

Was this built on what you know? Or from the thousands of emails you've sent FM?

I haven't gotten a lot of experience with turbos or had 15 years with miatas, but I did graduate from an engineering school...

Psi is pounds per square inch, as in force within a given area. If you force the same amount of air through half the area, the psi doubles. This is why your finger on a garden hose makes it shoot out harder. (Edit: faster -> harder, I think I was unclear. That's what she said!)

Sorry dude, sounds like you're blowing smoke, because psi is definitely not psi.

Actually it's about airflow and not just PSI. You can run a tiny turbo at 30PSI and will make less power than a large turbo at say 15PSI. So higher PSI doesn't necessary mean higher power. Now we are not going to get into the complicated (well complicated for some by the sound of it) idea that by higher PSI, you are raising the pressure drop across the pipes and intercooler as well as raising cylinder temperature and pressure which could potentially mean less power (potentially).

God damn, I am an engineer too. Maybe I should start talking out of my *** since everything comes out must be right because that piece of paper said so...

... What I posted is in agreement with you. I was saying that pressure is a measure of force over the cross sectional area you're pushing air through. Ergo, if I push the same air through half the space, the PSI doubles, but my airflow doesn't.

I also specifically said I don't know anything about turbos, several times, but I know enough about physics to realize that 10PSI through a 1" tube is half the airflow of 10PSI through a 2" tube, so derak's "10PSI is 10PSI" quip must be BS. (Well not exactly double, since a 2" diameter tube isn't 2x the area of a 1" diameter tube but I don't want to do math and the point holds blah blah whatever.)

Not sure where the disconnect is here, but I certainly wasn't trying to talk out my ***. Point is, yes, I agree with what you're saying and that is what I was generally trying to drive at (airflow as it relates to volume and PSI).

Buys sports car that engineers specifically designed for take turns well....brags about making straight-line passes that any space monkey could do. Winning.

"Bro", the only reason you are still posting is because you are providing us with entertainment....not because we actually care about what you have to say. Working on Miatas for 15 years? Yeah right. Anyone who "bros" as much as you do hasn't been doing anything worth mentioning for 15 years.

You have yet to prove anything more than being a keyboard cowboy.

This thread is such garbage. It should be deleted. It's not even fun, this guy shouldn't be allowed near a car.

I'd rather spoon feed an idiot than deal with a know-it-all that has no clue.

I think Broster went and fed himself to some 'gators. Yay for the human gene pool.

Don't ban him. I think I need some coaching from this guy. I clearly have no idea how to build or drive a Miata.

Does anyone else get the feeling that derakbell is the driver of the thread about scary track driving?

I doubt he is even that good of a driver....given his boasting...errr....'brosting' about "doing 20 passes".

I can't believe I just read 6 pages of this nonsense and the only thing I really want to know is how long did this take?
