Double Check My Coolant Reroute Plan

Because I want a way around the 100 dollar spacer. If I don't find one I'll go back to it.

does moss still sell the JR spacer? that was $20, and since you're doing an inline thermostat, it doesn't need a lip machined for the stat.

then just drill/tap it for the heater core outlet and clt sensor. done.


otherwise search for "spacerless reroute" circa 2006-2007

If my pictures were still hosted, I'd show you what I had done. My reroute looked the exact same as the above link, expect I used a spacer--the clt sensor and heater core outlets were in the exact same postion on the spacer instead of the head directly. I used the stock 1.6L waterneck outlet on top of it.

edit 2: it still looks like you can "order by part" on moss motors and enter "051-046" for the JR spacer. It comes up to $15 in the cart.

Read that. Also on my list of things to do especially if the head was off. Thanks for the idea on the JR spacer.

i edited again; looks like moss still has the JR spacer.

it's just a spacer with no ports, but easy to drill/tap for what you need.

maybe this afternoon I'll post my pics. It was a super easy/cheap reroute. The only thing I wish I did differently was use that one Ford hose all the way to the rad, but I did mine before people found that hose that works and I used a hardline which I never liked.

Thanks for dealing with another one of these threads. There are a million how to's using the Begi Spacer but none with the JR spacer. I've heard it mentioned a few times. I do have a lathe at work so if you have pictures of where the spacer can be milled for the thermostat that would be great.

the JR spacer is flat. notice the small ridge on the BEGi spacer for the thermostat to sit flush in?



but if you're doing an inline stat on the upper hose, then you dont have to worry about it.
