Default engine no start

Backgroud - '96 Miata DIY turbo setup, no kit to speak of.

Bought the car not running.

Replaced fuel pump

Car still no start.

Have spark. Plugs and wires are correct.

MAF is plugged in.

Have fuel being delivered to the rail, unsure about injectors other than they are getting voltage and pulsing.

Cam sensor tested okay on high and low frequency. (this was months ago, not sure if I'm using the right lingo anymore)

Car will fire up on starting fluid but will not even hick-up without it... just cranks and cranks.

EMB was installed prior to my purchase but since been uninstalled.

Wondering if it messed up the ECU. ECU is bolted in securely. Battery is new.

Thoughts? Opinions? I want to finish this little monster so I can play in some SCCA this summer. Buying a house now, so I'll be able to work on it at my leisure.

Please help!

if it fires with starting fluid than it is probably fuel.
recheck the wiring where the EMB was installed. especially the injector wires and grounds.

EMB was installed using a plug and play harness.

Fuel line swells when pump is priming, relay is working, injectors have voltage, resistance checked good. New Walbro 190HP installed.

Probably have the feed and return lines swapped backwards. Post pics of your fuel lines. Clear, well focused pics.

According to Haynes they are correct, but I'll get pics ASAP. I haven't even visited the car in nearly 3 months. I wonder if its still even there? lol

You're return line, will come off the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail.

I just wanted to chime in here and say, I'M AN ***.

The fuel lines were in fact on backwards up in the engine bay. Haynes doesn't show a pic of them, not a clear pic anyway.

Sorry for not taking your advice Pat/Todd. Once I swapped the lines, just out of curiosity, the car fired right up and quickly stalled because of about a billion vaccum leaks. Had a friend hold multiple lines shut/together, and bingo, we have idle.

There is no cat on my car anyway, just a small section of 2.5" downpipe. LOL

All the car needs is some vaccum lines replaced, exhaust finished, new ebay aluminum hardpipe kit, and heat shrink some wiring hacks. Oh, and replace the leaking oil drain line off the turbo.

I think I'm going to use a label maker and some tape and label "FEED" "RETURN"

Damn, now that I think about it, I might just label everything under the freakin hood!

/lame idea.
