Default Flow force.

Hello all,

have a R8 COP from flow force, finally after 18 months I attempted to start the 90 NA with a VVT. I am not getting a spark at the plugs I have it wired as a wasted spark should I wire it up as sequential? In the present wired configuration shouldn't I still get a spark on cylinder 1? I followed the wire diagram on car passion. Both the instruction on flow force and car passion match up as far as the wiring goes. I am getting 12v on the power side. I was not able to test the signal side.

Any help is appreciated thank you.

Are you on a standalone? Which one? Post your tune if so.

It should work in batch or sequential assuming it is wired correctly and setup properly in the ECU.

I am, MS3. I am working off the base map just to get the first start. I'm using the wasted spark option I even tried sequential still no spark. I did not test for voltage at the COP. Maybe the set I got was wired improperly.

side note the 1990-1993 base map down load and upload to tuner studio had a lot of errors not sure if that is the issue. I email MS support inquiring about the errors.

So, just to clarify, has the car ever started before on the standalone? If the COPs and the MS3 were installed at the same time, I'd be looking into confirming the correct settings on the MS3, especially since you're getting errors. Whenever I first installed my MS2 back in 2018-2019 I managed to download the wrong base map and the car would only run on two cylinders.

Default Flow force.

The car has never started on a stand alone ecu. Everything was installed same time (COP and MS3)I downloaded the correct base map 1990-1993. When I uploaded the program there is a lot of errors. I included a picture.

Is this an MS3PNP unit from DIYAutotune? If so, make sure to download the base map from their site or trubokitty.com. There is likely significant differences between a PNP unit and a self-assembled MS3. Also, keep in mind if you go the TruboKitty route, the common consensus is that their ignition timing is slightly aggressive in boost, while the DIYAutotune basemap is much more conservative.

I tried both the turbo kitty and the map form the ms3 website. They both had the errors. Should I delete tuner studio and download it again?

Shouldn't I get a spark in any version of the base map? There is nothing after I removed the plug and grounded it, I see no spark at all when I am cranking. I am tempted to buy the original ecu in to see if there is a spark.

Default Flow force.

I changed my dwell tables which I did not before. After doing this I do hear an electric spark sound from all 4 COPs, I tested this by unplugging the power source and plugging it back in several times. Still no spark at the tip of the spark plug.

I am getting a reading of .5 to .6 volts on my meter when I crank the engine. Not sure if that voltage is too low. I might be using the wrong terms please ask for clarification to make better sense of my dilemma.

Is the ground for the cop wiring grounded properly?
I would also check the gap for the crank sensor unless youre using the cas

It is grounded to the igniter wires and the grounds to the wire harness' are all grounded to the chassis. The electric spark sound is new, they were not making that sound before only after I changed the dwell battery table settings to the ones on the flow force website they began to make the sound.

Did you diy the wiring harness yourself?

They came wired from flow force. I needed to pin the connectors from the 8 wire igniter which I verified by testing both ends of the connectors.

What is your settings for the trigger in tunerstudios and are you using a Na cas or nb cam and crank sensor.

What ever the base map trigger is for a 1990. I have a 2002 VVT engine in the car. I'm using everything from the NB. I don't know how to set those on mega squirt properly yet. I'm certain that has something to do with it I'm very new to this type of modification I've been cobbling the ecu portion. If you are skilled at this send me a personal message and we text or call each other.
