Honda intake manifold
#62
I'm thinking about trying this out too. If I do I'll probably end up selling it as my car isn't really running right now and I don't need an awesome intake manifold. But I'm really curious to see if this will work. I have access to an industrial bandsaw that will be able to make very precise cuts and I know some good aluminum welders. If I were to make one and then sell it, would you guys be more interested in one for a 99/00 head or the 94-97 head? I have both heads and could mock up either one, however I don't have a 99 IM, only a 94.
So in short, if you were in the market for something like this how many would want it for a 94-97 head and how many would be interested in one for the 99 head?

Turns out the bastards aren't open on Saturdays.
Little place I never knew was there called "FWD Performance." FWD fail, but looks like they're big on the drag scene, and they also carry DO kits.
Will try and get it Monday, and find a good aluminum welder locally to put it together.
I'll measure the plenums, but I think as far as a dyno difference we should find someone else. My car has no business being on a dyno right now.

The B16A (civic Si)and B18B (LS integra) dont use the same flange, but the port spacing is almost the same
also, the B18C1 (GSR integra) is a different flange but the cylinder spaceing should be the same as well.

I saw some manifolds that were advertised as being for both motors.
That means either would work for our purposes since we're not using the flange, and just need the right runner spacing.
Some of the B16 specific ones I saw did seem like they had a smaller plenum though....complete unscientific observation.
I called the cell # I had for the shop owner, and he said he could meet me today to sell the manifold. Hopefully my wife won't drag me to her parent's house tomorrow. I'm gonna claim a football exemption, but will spend some time in garage.

Also, I just confirmed that the B20 uses the same flange as the B18B, so it must have the same spacing.
Thats how people do the infamous B20/vtec.
Thats a lot of oem manifolds to choose from in addition to aftermarket ones.

Big PLUS ONE.
I'm trying to keep myself from getting too excited.
I'm expecting $150 for welding and am still stoked. Will just shift the powerband for me...but guys like Phil and yourself will see the real gains.
I'm in no hurry though, and am just rushing for the name of science.
PMed ya about this.
