Junk yard tools for engine/transmission removal
First post, but have been doing a ton of reading on the forum. This is a very informative site with very knowledgeable members! I waste entirely too much time reading old posts to learn as much as possible.
What tools would you take to pull an engine/transmission from a 99 Miata from a pull it yourself jy? This will be a slash and burn pull, just as quickly as possible. The car will be about 1 1/2 to 2 feet up on rim jack stands. What else would you pull while I am there?
I am going to recon the car today and hope to pull engine first thing in the morning.
I tried a search and hope I didn't miss an existing thread covering this topic.
Thanks!
Galen
Oh yea, I already plan on basic sockets, wrenches, pliers, wire cutters and chain. Probably also MAPP gas torch for heat if needed.

For posterity sake, the removal was simple. Took about 3 hours, but I had to remove the transmission and all accessories. The only tools I wish I had brought were a 2 foot cheater bar and a set of bolt cutters. I also forgot a chain, but a cut seatbelt had no problem holding the load. Since the car was an auto and I had to remove the torque converter, my ratchet wrenches were priceless.
The engine I pulled was a '99, and cost $220 from throttle body to exhaust manifold.
Oh yea, oil everywhere, so a roll of blue shop rags would have also been nice!
Thanks again!
