Ladies and gentlemen,

This is PRECISELY why we give so much crap to MSM owners on this forum.

When you come in here with an MSM and see all the posts of hatred, please reference this post.

Thank You

Good day.

Good day.

I still remember posting for the first time and being asked what types of shoes I wear... Which somehow played into an FnF joke...

Good times...

I guess I'll route it right under the seat, so it fries off my nuts and I don't procreate. smh

You should be shaking your head in shame. Now start reading, it's the only cure for ignorance.

I dont really mind the loud and obnoxious noise, wake up the cows and neighbors. I just want the most hp without blowing a few rods lol

Fine, don't ******* listen to me...what the **** do I know I have not had 2 turbo Miatas, one being a MSM, in the garage for the past 5 years...
See if I remember you later....if you last that hazing....and troll the **** out of you..until you finally fall victim to an exhaust related accident that burns your nuts off and eliminates any chance of you reproducing.

I have a 3" artech exhaust on my MSM with a 2.5" Begi DP, no boost creep at 10psi. But I honestly don't think I gained anything going to 3" over 2.5" other than frying my nuts and not being able to procreate.

Good day.
This site has more information about making a turbo miata go fast than every other site on the web combined but as your burning nuts have found out, we really beat up on new guys. The MSM community (site in my signature) is very polite but we still make the CR crowd feel unwelcome when they wander into the yard.

On our turbos, boost creep has a lot more to do with the downpipe than the exhaust. Too little restriction and you will have uncontrollable boost creep that will crush our rods, burn a piston or both. The wastegate requires a basic amount of backpressure behind the turbine and if it isn't there the tiny wastegate with the 90* flow is hopeless.

Get the FM downpipe with a cat - my catless FM pipe on the street car will creep on a long pull. I have a BEGi SGDP on the track car with a heavily ported wastegate and a 80mm exhaust and it creeps to around 13psi which is fine because my target is 15 or higher. That same DP would be unusable on a car with stock injectors, rods, ecu, etc.

Good luck with your nuts...

I have a Mazdaspeed Miata with a flyin Miata downpipe. One day just for the hell of it I thought I would disconnect my midpipe to see what it would sound like. It was soo freaking loud. The resonant frequency was so severe I think it shook the catalytic material loose in my catalytic converter & backed out some manifold bolts. I would say a cut out right after the turbo would do some serious damage from the resonant frequency alone. The resonant frequency alone will cause the metal in the turbo or manifold or something else to crack something will break.

To be completely honest, you don't need to modify the exhaust in any way to make power; in your case.
Remove the vacuum line that goes to the wastegate actuator.
Plug the line by screwing a bolt into it.
See how fast your car just got.
Be sure to also take vids and post them here.

If you have an MSM and want 3 inch exhaust, than do it. I was thinking about the same upgrade for mine, but my mechanic informed me I am not running a BB mopar and 2.5 would flow more than enough. Also it is hard to find 3 inch as a kit or a custom shop that will do mandrel bends, and without them I don't think that extra .5 inch will help that much.

I have now set my goals on a downpipe to tip upgrade, new turbo, and some injectors. I still have to wait for my car to get out of the shop from a spun rod bearing, that also seems like a site first. I would just read all you can, because like you, I am new to modding a turbo engine. The last car I raced was a 72 charger, and this is all new to me.
