Did you grind the arm or the car?

Looks like the shifting was more aggressive - did the new pressure plate help?

Seems like a lot of the big ticket features of the LGX over the LFX would be moot in a race car, like stop/start and cylinder deactivation. Plus the block stiffening seems to mainly be with NVH as the end goal, i can't imagine the LFX is lacking in bottom end strength.

Congrats on the stellar results, Ryan! Inspiring to say the least. Is GWR hiring? lol

Cool vid from GTA Round 1 highlighting the new overall record set by the PZTuning Civic. I make a few appearances

Moto IQ got up close with the car at Buttonwillow, full article is on the way. I'm told it should be up within 24 hours. I'll put up a link as soon as I have it.

Details on that snap-in ECU holder? I was just getting ready to fab up something to mount my E39 ecu but that looks perfect.

Also, did you special order the doors with the kevlar layer, or did you add it yourself? I really wish I'd known that was an option before buying my doors if so.

Car looks great! Good luck at UTCC.

I just called and asked for a layer of kevlar on the inside for protrusion protection. It's not something they had done before as far as I know, but he had no problem doing it (for an extra cost).

Very cool write-up from MotoIQ on an obviously very cool car. Hope to come check it out at Hyperfest this month!

Impressive rwhp number! Hadn't seen you disclose that before. Are you just running the V8R tune with everything else oem (besides E85)? Any plans for an Overkill throttle body or Jacfab intake goodies?

Also, does the V8R tune fix the full throttle issue? I know a lot of people are using the Vitesse throttle controller, but some of the better tuners claim they can fix it in the tune.

Yeah, great numbers.

My LFX miata should be up and running here in a week or so and hope to see the same numbers although I'm not running power steering and am using a 25% UD pulley from ati, so maybe a little more. E85 also.

I have purchased an overkill TB to test out, but not sure how it will fit with the very little hood clearance

I hadn't

Factory setup aside from the custom intake tube of course. Still on the ECU supplied by V8R, but as far as I understand it I'm not using much of that tune right now because that was the 93 octane tune. I'm now on E85 via flex fuel utilizing the ethanol tables in the ECU, which are largely factory tables plus minor tweaks on the dyno. Exhaust is 2.5" out of the head, I'd like to try 2.25" for more velocity.
I'm not planning on spending much time fiddling on the motor side to try to find a couple hp here or there.

I'm not having any full throttle issues that I'm aware of. What are people experiencing?

Haha, well played good sir! Very impressive number for a basically stock motor on E85! Can you say what the torque is?

A lot of people use the Vitesse throttle controller as it is claimed that GM electronically delays/reduces the throttle on the LFX. Very common and well reviewed upgrade on the lfx camaro forums.

Ah, I see. Zero performance gain, just modifies the response time between pedal and throttle body. You know, I thought this was an issue at first - at idle if I blip the throttle there's a clear delay. On track, no delay. Everything feels perfectly direct. Can't say whether anything V8R changed in the tune is responsible for that, but my impression has been that the delay is there to keep the car from jerking along at low speeds by being overly sensitive - and it reduces as speed increases. Could be wrong, but haven't had any experience during actual driving to make me feel there was a problem that needed solving. At a quick glance at that forum link, there are also people having issues with those controllers. Since everything is working well for me, no need to add a potential reliability issue.

Great article, awesome build! Can't imagine what it's like to drive a lightened, aero Miata with that kind of power.
