Default More boost or more timing? -E85 Tune

Hello all,
I'm trying to get into the low 200 whp range. Currently i'm running 9.5 pounds of boost and 21 degrees of timing @ 6k. Would more boost or more timing be better to get past 200+ whp? I am running E85 so knock isn't a concern but i'm worried that more timing will go past MBT? Below is a VD run from earlier today and also my current setup. The ignition table is degrees retarded from stock ecu.

List of mods:
Flyin Miata Turbo manifold and downpipe
Flyin Miata 2.5" Midpipe
Flyin Miata Intercooler
Garret GT2560R Turbo
Flyin Miata Clutch lvl 1
Flow Force 640cc Injectors
AEM FIC6 ECU
AEM X series wideband sensor
Flyin Miata Sway Bars
NGK BKR7E gapped to 0.032"
Fenix Radiator with SPAL 12" fans
Continental Flex Fuel Sensor

For best results, get the correct ECU.

It takes more than 9.5 psi with that turbo.

Get on a dyno and tune for MBT and then you'll know if it needs more boost...

You need more fuel. Also I'd just add boost at that point.

Low 200s? Go right for 250. I ran that turbo at 16psi and it was fine. Was right around the 250 mark and didn't bother with e85.

Ok i'm going to shim my wastegate out some more and aim for 11~12 pounds of boost. I might even setup ebc if I feel like messing with that. 250 sounds nice but it also seems a bit risky on the stock rods. I'm thinking 230 should be enough to satisfy me for now. I used to think a car could never have enough power but now i'm starting to realize how insane a 300+ whp miata would be on the streets.

I would think running an electronic boost controller would be your best bet. Shimming a wastegate sounds like a bandaid.
Also, if you are savy enough to wire in a flex fuel sensor I think an ebc should be cake.

Tuning EBC is a bit more work than wiring in a sensor and checking a box.

Maybe I am a dummy but getting flex to work with the flex sensor requires having 2 timing and fuel tables, possibly different cranking tables and blending them together based off of the ratio of ethanol. Seems like a lot more work than wiring up an ebc, watching a quick video on how to tune it and then doing that.

You don't shim the wastegate. You need a manual boost controller. Sounds like you aren't interested in getting the EBC setup - and frankly it doesn't sound like you need one.

Just get the manual controller.

When I made the harness for the FIC I decided to put in wiring for a boost solenoid. So most of the wiring is already done but I don't have any sort of over boost protection right now. I'm all for EBC but also paranoid that the boost solenoid could fail causing the engine to blow up. Also the FIC only supports open loop boost control and I have no idea how well open loop bc works in the long term?

Megasquirt has easily adjustable overboost protection.

I would gladly switch back to megasquirt as soon as someone posts a decent basemap that idles equivalent or better then the stock ECU. I really liked my MS3 but I could never get it to idle correctly in various conditions.

Map is to get the car cranked. Tuning required. If you can't figure it out it's ok to ask a tuner to do it for you.

I had zero prior experience tuning anyting and learned from reading and experimenting, like most of the people on the forum did. I made mistakes but I learned things, which is part of the reason I tinker with the car.
