I'd guess that's at an Air Force museum somewhere. The one at the A&S museum (well, the Udvar Hazy annex near Dulles) has a bunch of other airplanes, fencing, lights, etc around it.

I'd put two of them on, and turn up the boost.

I'm not quite sure if it's OT or not, anyway...

In the first 30 seconds or so he talks about the IAT sensor placement causing heatsoak issues even on the street.

Damn you're grumpy, lately.

so he didn't listen to what we've stated repeatedly for many years, and wasted time proving it to be true? cool

You know, I don't post that information for all of you elitist kittens, I post it for all the people that are too afraid to come here (or don't want to spend time learning how to search, let's be honest). There's a reason I don't post any of my videos here, because most of the information is already here and everyone who frequents this forum already knows 100% of what's on my channel. But it provides a new form of media for people to learn from. I'll post my dyno and relevant info later in Dynos & Timesheets.

So you did know that it was a bad spot, but put it there anyway for the media content and to show your follower noobs that it doesn't work? Or you wanted to test it anyway, for science?

Not sure I'm understanding the approach. Congrats on big boy power btw, I'm sure it's a hoot.

PS: I loved the sharpie comment on the e85 jug

Regarding the heat-soaking of the IAT sensor:

I liked the fact that he pointed out the issue in the video, it's something that has been mentioned here on the forum several times so is known to regular visitors and is why I installed mine in the cold-side tank of my intercooler when I upgraded my intercooler (I even had a bung welded in for it).

It's also little-known outside this community so mentioning the issue in the video will inform those who've written off this site as being full of arseholes and don't visit (yes I know, it's their loss since they wont have visibility to the best information from those on the bleeding edge of aftermarket performance/handling/aero advice from those who are actually pushing the car to its limits and I get pissed off with users who can't be bothered to search first too).
The MSM came with the IAT mounted in the OEM rubber TB elbow and FM repeated this with their aftermarket stainless steel TB elbow, which made the problem even worse.
There are plenty of other manufacturers who did the same thing.

ie. The fact that he located the IAT in a bad spot originally may have been because he just didn't know any better at the time and was quite reasonable given that's where the manufacturer was mounting it.

Emilio shipped us a square top to test, so here it is in an A/B test with the Skunk2. Stock throttle body. We'll be doing testing on a more typical stock internal FM II later, and will also be doing A/B tests with the throttle body. This is not max power testing, it's "what difference does the manifold make?" testing.
